The negative reviews clearly agree this is a beginners book, and so does the title imply, "Understanding Exposure", so that should not surprise you, especially if you are a proficient photog. This is truly a 5 star book, easy to read and understand concepts, and is perfect for what it is. . a beginner read. It is odd though. . I still find myself flipping back through the pages for a quick review on some topics of exposure I don't necessarily use every day. . maybe I am just retarded. . hahaha. This book covers the basics for general lighting techniques so if you want to understand more specific lighting applications. . such as Macro lighting, Portraiture, etc. . Look for those subjects by specific title up in the Amazon search or Google and vualla! This book is excellent for the novice photographer or one who just needs to re-familiarize themselves with key photographic elements. Amazing book. I love Bryan Peterson's books and his work!
