This book has clear instructions that are very easy to follow Awesome for 6 year old!!. My 6 year old can sit down and in just a few steps complete a drawing2009-03-07 Rating 5. .

My daughter brought home two of Ed Emberley's drawing books from the school library Ed Emberley inspires my daughter in all her drawings and doodles.

She immediately began to draw little cartoons and towns and people using the books as guides to her work2009-02-03 Rating 5.

When she showed me her work I was amazed and quite tickled to see how well she had done.

She was totally into these books for the time period that she had them. When I looked on Amazon to see if they were something stocked (the books from the libary were quite old and well worn) I was pleasantly suprised to see that they are still sold and in paperback form no less.

For the price that Amazon had them at, the 4 for 3 promotion that was applied, and the sheer joy of my 10 year old daughter, I had to order four of them.

As far as drawing books go, she has never been so pleased.

They are well worth the investment as your child will be provided with hours of entertainment if drawing is one of their favorite activities.

Highly recommended! .

I got this book for my son for Christmas, and it looked like fun--the animals in it, though very simply made were incredibly cute--so I just had to try a few of them out before I wrapped it HELP, I can't stop drawing!!!. Soon I was filling page after page with colorful, adorable Emberley-style creatures2008-12-28 Rating 5. Oh my, how sweet they looked! I love the giraffe, the lion, the lady bug,. . well, all of them, really.

These guys are going to be my new "doodle-bugs" instead of my usual lines which I do when I am bored. Everyone will be so impressed at how talented I am! Seriously, Emberley is some kind of genius to work out all these amazing critters to draw.

The animals are colorful (I like to do them in markers best), and are made of just a few basic shapes and lines. Each step in the process (about five steps, I think) is clearly outlined, and fool-proof.

My son likes the book, too. Oh, and he is a college graduate, 23 years old, and he says, "all of my friends are artists, but I can't draw at all". Pretty much, true. It was sort of a gag-gift, but a real gift at the same time.

You can also give this book to children. .

Recently I bought Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animals for my five year old daughter who loves art, but wanted more formal training Simple and sweet way to teach children to draw. This book is *perfect*! Everything about it is tailored for children who can draw some shapes and it progresses from simple animals to the lovely, elaborate dragon at the end2008-08-22 Rating 5. My daughter is learning how to draw better shapes (and animals) without getting frustrated. The step-by-step simple instructions capture a child's attention and makes them more focused on the process than the end result. Overall, a really wonderful book!.

I had this book as a kid and loved it - no written instructions, just step by step pictures that are easy to follow Blast fom my past that my kids love, too!. My 11-yr old and 7-yr old both like it2008-07-07 Rating 5. The final pictures are full of character and are really fun. This may not be a book for a kid who's really serious about drawing, but it's great fun for the average artist, adults included.
