As someone who is trying to learn to walk upright and not dress like a derelict this book provides a road map to follow A nice guide to help the common man.. From head to toe they go over the basics2009-03-16 Rating 4.

Bought 2 Great Guide. 2009-02-04 Rating 5. 1 as a gift and then had to have one for me after looking at the gift copy I bought. I can't recommend this book enough. Full of great tips and useful information. For the suave and the "fashion challenged" who need help. The price is very reasonable for the amount of content in this little gem.

I own this book, and i learned valuable things from it Great book, but focused on Obsolete Mens Styles. Like how to properly shave, why cedar shoe stretchers are needed to keep your shoes in good shape, an overview of the different types of cuff styles, paints styles, collar styles etc2009-02-02 Rating 2. It even tells you what your wardobe should consist of to cover all situations.

That part of the book is awesome!

But, i am giving it a poor rating because the author uses celebrity figures from the 1950's to early 1980's to define the style. And most of those styles are not the Armani suits you see business executives wear today!

Let me clarify. He shows Ronald Reagan in his younger acting days, wearing Jeans. He shows Pee-Wee Herman wearing the classing bowtie suit. He shows George Burns, Carey Grant, and countless others and explains their styles in detail. But, those styles are long outdated.

Sure, I find Carey Grant or Dean Martin one of the best dressed in the older era. And their styles can still be used today. But, most of the others are so wrong today!

Today, Men admire the likes of Daniel Craig from Casino Royale, with his J Crew Windsow Tuxedo Shirt, Polo Ralph Lauren Bowtie, and Armani Collezioni two-piece tuxedo.

Even the hair styles and facial hair in this book are long outdated. People today wear short hair cuts.

this book is a must have a must have for any man. period2009-01-29 Rating 5. from shoes to shirts to ties to socks and more, the handbook of style covers it all. .

As a young man, I was given a random style guide that detailed the ins and outs of how to dress and look like a stylish man by my grandfather A Must Have For Any "Man Of Style"!!!. As that book has been lost or thrown out, I felt the need to have something to rely on in that case of uncertain style rules2009-01-27 Rating 5.

As an avid reader of Esquire, I decided to pick up the Handbook of Style after seeing the multiple articles in both the magazine and The Big Black Book. This book is both entertaining with various quips and facts from the political and social worlds as well as informational with all kinds of tricks ranging from how to tie a tie and what to shine your shoes with.

All in all, this is a must have for any man, young or old, with a sense of style and the vision to tweak it. .

Each year, the editors of Esquire produce a special issue of the magazine devoted to men’s style called The Big Black Book, which has been wildly successful Using the same pragmatic, highly illustrated approach, and laced with Esquire’s trademark humor, Esquire The Handbook of Style brings readers vital information on every aspect of a man’s wardrobe, from suits and shirts, to shoes and neckties, to watches and other accessories.
