EAN:9781592404025 Label:Gotham Author:Kim France Binding:Paperback | This book is genius for helping the reader understand the fundamental "vibe" of an accessory or garment, and then how to put a coherent, fabulous outfit together Brilliant. The guide groups clothing into ten different categories of style, which is enormously helpful for identifying your basic taste, and building good, solid wardrobe of outfits within that category2009-03-25 Rating 5. The book also suggests how to mix style categories, which is a truly advanced skill I hope to master over time. As another reviewer commented, this is a relatively sophisticated primer on style. If you want the basic or introductory course, get the superb Lucky Shopping Manual. Also: if you want a book that tells you how to hide figure flaws, this isn't it. Wish I'd read this guide twenty years ago--it would have saved me from a lot of costly mistakes buying random, unrelated separates. Those who loved the first Lucky Style manual, with its advice on how to put together flattering looks for a variety of occasions, will find this book a disappointment Guide for the Young and Skinny. They are usually all the same and I regret spending the money to hear the same stuff over and over2009-02-22 Rating 5. This book does not fall into that category. I love it so much that I have it on my nightstand to look at whenever I want, which is a lot. I even want to buy another copy so I can cut out pictures for reference. This book helped my personal style so much, and I loved seeing the items real women considered their wardrobe staples. And these are stylish women. If you buy any book in this genre, make sure it's this one. You'll love it. . I found this to be good "added ideas" for those shopaholics out there such as myself Added ideas!. I enjoyed the style sections for those classic, american classic, boho, etc2009-02-08 Rating 4. however I'm more of a contempo-classic girl some of the chapters were a bit of a waste to me. I would maybe recommend Lucky doing such books for those "types" of individuals only and not combine it all in one book. . if that makes any sense!?!? The bonus added designer websites were a plus and the book is a nice change from the same ole same ole "fashion books" on store shelves!.
